Knowing the root cause of our emotional state can naturally be illuminating. Whilst all will agree with this, the opportunity comes in delving and discovering what those factors may be.
Putting yourself in the other persons place is a great way to start to understand. But the reality is that drilling down to find the cause can take some professional skills and the right approach
We all understand this is all quite serious; someone’s sense of wellbeing is at stake, they are are off poor mental health and, they would like to be better.
As the National Institute for Play notes,
“ play is fun, even joyful. It refreshes and energizes us. Play is a central element of life, throughout life, not only for children, but for working and retired adults.
In play our burdens feel lighter and we are opened to new possibilities. But play goes even deeper – it shapes our brains to make us smarter and more able to adapt to situations”
Quote from the National Institute of Play website.
Play can lift the lid on our emotions. In a playful, fun way, giant emoti-dice provide a non-threatening way to look at emotions. Play lowers our defensive mechanisms and so is effective.
Firstly, it’s their sheer size, then it’s their interesting spongy feeling, the brightly colored emoti designs and finally the tactile feel they have. You really do have to hold and play with these giant dice to comprehend how appealing they are.
The global popularity of emoti-cons belies the power of these emoti-dice to open the door to exploring emotions.
In such situations, using emoti-dice to understand emotions is a playful way within which to engage a sensitive subject such as our emotions.
